Peter Frampton Net Worth - Pulptastic

What is Peter Frampton’s Net Worth?

Peter Frampton, the English rock musician and guitarist, has a net worth of $20 million. He gained popularity with the bands Humble Pie and The Herd, but is best known for his solo album “Frampton Comes Alive!” which sold over 16 million copies. The album held the title of the best-selling live rock album until 1998. Hits like “Baby I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like I Do?” and “Show Me the Way” dominated the American charts. However, Frampton’s popularity declined by the end of the 1970s. After a near-fatal car accident, he temporarily stopped making music. He recorded intermittently throughout the 1980s, with albums like “Breaking All The Rules” (1981), “The Art of Control” (1982) and “Premonition” (1986). In 1987, Frampton returned to the public eye and began touring as a lead guitarist with longtime friend David Bowie. He has since released albums sporadically.

Peter Frampton’s Early Life

Peter Frampton was born on April 22, 1950 in Beckenham, Kent, England to Owen and Peggy Frampton. He attended Bromley Technical School where his father was the head of the art department. At the age of seven, he discovered his grandmother’s banjo ukulele in the attic, which sparked his interest in music. He taught himself to play it and went on to teach himself guitar and piano as well. By the age of eight, he began taking music lessons.

Peter Frampton’s Musical Career

Peter Frampton began his music career in his pre-teen years, playing in bands such as The Little Ravens and George & The Dragons with David Bowie. At age 14, he played in a band called the Trubeats followed by a band called the Preachers. In 1967, he became the lead guitarist and singer for the pop-oriented group The Herd and stayed with the band for two years. He then fronted the band Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces before going solo in 1971.

Frampton’s debut album Wind Of Change sent him on an extensive tour. His next albums, Frampton’s Camel, Somethin’s Happening, and Frampton, had little commercial success. It was his live double album recording Frampton Comes Alive! in 1976 that catapulted Frampton into superstardom. The album became the best-selling live rock album in history and the singles “Baby I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like I Do?,” and “Show Me the Way” dominated the American charts. His next album, “I’m In You,” contained the hit title single and went platinum, but it fell short of expectations as a follow up to “Frampton Comes Alive.”

Frampton recorded sporadically throughout the ’80s and ’90s, releasing Breaking All The Rules, The Art of Control, and Premonition. He re-entered the public spotlight and began touring with longtime friend David Bowie and released Frampton Comes Alive II in 1995. Since then, he has released several albums including Now, Fingerprints, and Thank You Mr. Churchill. In 2014, he released a new album entitled “Hummingbird in a Box” and a new studio album, “Acoustic Classics,” in 2015.

In 2016, Frampton was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum and toured with the Steve Miller Band. In 2019, he announced his retirement from touring and released a new album, “All Blues,” which debuted at No. 1 in the Billboard Top Blues Albums Chart. He planned a farewell tour in May 2020, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2020, Frampton released a memoir, “Do You Feel Like I Do?”
